ANDREA GIOVANNA PATRI grew up in Sonoma with her two older
brothers and older sister. At an early age Andrea knew her
passion was art. Learning to sew at the age of 12, she dreamed
of becoming a Fashion Designer.  She also had an affinity for
numbers and at the age of 18, practicalities won out and she
attended San Jose State University where she received a B.S. in
Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Combining both of her passions, Andrea had a long successful
career with Gap, Inc., first as a Store Manager with Banana
Republic on the East Coast, then as a Senior Accountant with
International Finance in San Francisco.  When the finance
division of Gap, Inc. moved to Albuquerque, NM, Andrea took the
opportunity to follow her dreams.

After moving to New York City, she studied Fashion Design at
Parsons School of Design, part of The New School of New York.
She worked for Wedding Dress designers Birnbaum & Bullock as a
hand sewer. Although she enjoyed the experience she knew she was
ultimately a Californian. In February 2004, Andrea moved back to
California to be close to her family and raise her son, Giacomo.

In 2005, Andrea began working with the Sonoma Valley Museum of
Art, Art Rewards the Student (ARTS) program, which brings art to
the public schools in Sonoma Valley. In December that year she
became a member of the Arts Guild of Sonoma exhibiting her
hand-crafted jewelry. Currently, she is the Treasurer of the
Board of Directors of the Arts Guild of Sonoma.

Also in September 2005, Andrea began teaching adult jewelry
making classes at the Sonoma Community Center. When she
overheard her friends commenting on the lack of activities for
children in Sonoma, she initiated an art class for children at
the Sonoma Community Center. As the success of that class grew
she added additional classes. In the spring of 2007, the idea
for
MY BIG MESSY Art Studio began to form. On June 25, 2007, MY
BIG MESSY
Art Studio opened its doors offering art classes for
children of all ages.
